Nick Aldis calls the National Wrestling Alliance the most toxic brand in professional wrestling.
On November 6, Aldis, a two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, announced that he gave his notice to the promotion, so he would be entering free agency on January 1, 2023. NWA subsequently suspended him and pulled him from the Hard Times 3 pay-per-view, where he was scheduled to face Odinson. NWA president Billy Corgan went on to comment on the decision, while Aldis shared his side in a recent interview.
In a post that was shared with his Instagram subscribers after NWA Hard Times 3, Aldis stated that the company has become the most toxic brand in pro wrestling. He noted that he hopes everyone can understand his decision to give his notice now.
The post is as follows:
“I hope now you see why it was important to me to let you know that I had given my notice to the NWA BEFORE this ppv. What was once a promising endeavour that I turned down bigger opportunities to take the lead on, has become the most toxic brand in pro wrestling.
Thank you all for the support.”
NWA Hard Times 3 ended with Tyrus winning the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
