AEW Rampage Results (10/28/22): Wardlow Takes On Matt Taven

All Elite Wrestling will deliver an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on October 28.

In the matches, Jon Moxley and Matt Menard will compete in the AEW World Championship Eliminator Match, Wardlow will defend his TNT Championship against Matt Taven, and Madison Rayne will face off against Tay Melo in a singles match.

Elsewhere, Keith Lee will also be in action, as one half of Swerve in Our Glory looks to continue his dominant run through AEW.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Jon Moxley defeats Matt Menard via submission

In the opening match, Moxley took down Menard in the AEW World Championship Eliminator. Things came to an end after Menard went to stop on Moxley’s head after dropping him, but Moxley quickly countered and locked in a rear naked chokehold on Menard for the submission win.

Following the match, Stokely Hathaway made their way out, and challenged Moxley to step into the ring against Lee Moriarty next week. Moxley agreed, but told Hathaway that he was making the biggest mistake of his life, and that he’d see Lee next week, after which Moriarty wouldn’t ever be the same again.

Match 2: Keith Lee defeats Serpentico via pinfall

In a relatively quick match, Lee made short work of Serpentico, taking him down almost immediately with a huge powerbomb.

After the match, Tony Schiavone tried to interview Lee, but The Acclaimed quickly interrupted things. The men said that Daddy Ass is missing, and they think Swerve Strickland is behind it. Lee didn’t know anything, but Strickland then appeared on the jumbotron, saying he loves horror movies and revealing none other than Daddy Ass tied to a chair behind him.

He threatened to remove Daddy’s fingers with pliers and then the camera cut off with his screams, and The Acclaimed running off. Lee, meanwhile, had no idea what was happening in the ring.

Match 3: Tay Melo defeats Madison Rayne via pinfall

In a back-and-forth match from the start, Melo was able to come out on top thanks to some late momentum. Towards the end of the match, Melo landed a huge pump knee strike on Rayne, dropping her and allowing her to then hit the Tay-KO for the victory.

Match 4: Wardlow defeats Matt Taven via pinfall

In a match for his TNT Championship, Wardlow made sure the world of All Elite Wrestling knew who was the champion. In a relatively quick match, Wardlow was able to overcome various distractions, including one from Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett, to come away with the win after landing four powerbombs on Taven for the win.

After the match, Bennett stormed the ring, looking to take down Wardlow by attacking his injured leg. Samoa Joe quickly ran out, though, coming in for the save and delivering a beatdown to Bennett. Powerhouse Hobbs then made his way out, with The Embassay suddenly attacking Wardlow and Samoa Joe in an ambush from behind. Hobbs then got into the ring and hit Wardlow with an elbow to the head, followed by a spinebuster before holding the TNT Championship up while Brian Cage held up the Ring of Honor TV Championship above both Wardlow and Joe as the show came to an end.
