Chris Jericho will defend the ROH World Championship on the October 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.
On the October 14 edition of AEW Rampage, Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society came to the ring. Eventually, former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle confronted Jericho and challenged him to a title match. He vowed to use Peacock Power to win the gold, and Jericho accepted, determined to continue his quest to beat the ROH World Champions of yesterday and desecrate the company’s legacy. The bout was subsequently confirmed for next week’s show, which will air on Tuesday night due to coverage of the MLB playoffs on TBS.

Jericho won the title by defeating Claudio Castagnoli on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Castle currently holds the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with The Boys. The trio has been competing on AEW Dark: Elevation in recent weeks.
Additionally, Death Triangle (Penta Oscuro, Rey Fenix, and PAC) will defend the AEW World Trios Championship against Orange Cassidy and Best Friends ((Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor). Cassidy defeated PAC to win the AEW All-Atlantic Championship on the October 12 episode of Dynamite. This upcoming bout will be a rematch from the September 7 episode, where Death Triangle won contest and kicked off their title reign.
