Sonya Deville surprisingly appeared on the October 11 episode of WWE NXT.
Earlier in the show, Alba Fyre discussed the way she abducted NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose the previous week. She noted that, by the end of their “joyride” together, she had gained at the title. On Tuesday, Fyre defeated Rose’s Toxic Attraction stablemate Jacy Jayne, but she was attacked by another one of the champion’s friends.
As Fyre celebrated her win, she was attacked by a hooded individual, who revealed herself to be Deville. Jayne, Gigi Dolin, and Deville beat up Fyre and powerbombed her through a table.

Later in the show, Deville noted that she and Rose have had their differences, but the champion is still her best friends. She noted that Fyre was never going to get away with kidnapping the champion, and she challenged her to a match for next week’s show.
Deville and Rose came up on the main roster together, first as members of Absolution and subsequently as the tag team Fire and Desire. Deville later feuded on Rose, and they clashed in a Loser Leaves WWE Match at SummerSlam 2020. Rose won that match, but Deville returned to the company the following January.
