The Rock acknowledges Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, but he says he’s the head of the table.
Dwayne Johnson has been making the rounds in the media to promote his new movie, Black Adam. Given his connection to the wrestling world, he is often asked about Reigns and potentially facing “The Tribal Chief”, who also calls himself the head of the table. A clash between the two stars has been teased since Reigns won the Universal Championship in 2020, and fans continue to speculate about it.
During an appearance on E! News’s The Rundown, The Rock was asked who is the head of the table.
“Who is head of the table? Without saying any names, you‘relooking into his eyes right now,” he said.
When asked whether he’s confirming a WrestleMania match against Reigns, “The Brahma Bull” made it clear that wasn’t the case.
“[Laughs] I am not confirming that at all, no,” The Rock said. “No, I am not. Though I’m gonna get a text from him after he watches this.”
The Rock was also asked if he likes the idea of facing Reigns. He stated that he loves the idea of “a WrestleMania”, but there are many other factors involved in the situation.
“I love the idea of a WrestleMania, and I’m close to a lot of people there, but very close to, and one in particular, and we’ve talked about this,” he said. “So there’s just so many other variables that have to come into play. But I’m a fan because I’m a promoter at heart, too. I’m fan of promoting an event, and what could that be. So I love WrestleMania, and I love that world.”
Black Adam will premiere on October 21. As for Reigns, he will defend his titles against Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5.
