The Rock acknowledges “The Tribal Chief”.
Since WWE Payback 2020, The Rock’s cousin Roman Reigns has reigned supreme as the Universal Champion, and he beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to unify the world titles. As of this writing, he has held the gold for over 770 days. Likewise, The Usos are the reigning Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. They won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Money in the Bank 2021, and they beat RK-Bro in May to unify the titles.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, The Rock was asked whether he acknowledges “The Tribal Chief”, and he stated that he does. He noted that Reigns and The Usos are doing a great job.
“[Laughs] I do. It’s my family, yeah. I think those guys are doing a great job, and I think what an interesting shift that the company has gone through this year, unexpected in many ways. But when unexpectations happen in that kind of way, especially in that business, you gotta have the ability and ability to pivot, which they have. So with Roman, I think he’s doing a pretty good job, and the boys too, The Usos as well,” The Rock said.
