All Elite Wrestling is reportedly adding a former ROH World Champion to the roster.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select), Bandido has agreed to terms with the company. Bandido made his AEW debut on the September 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he challenged Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship.
Sapp noted he hasn’t heard that Bandido hasn’t officially signed, but he was offered a deal, and sources say he has agreed to the terms. Sapp also cited sources who complimented Bandido’s demeanor and his attitude. After the match, fans in the arena posted a clip of Bandido being visibly excited and hugging AEW president Tony Khan.
The report also noted that there has been interest from several companies about potentially signing Bandido. In recent months, he has competed for IMPACT Wrestling, MLW, and GCW, among other promotions.
Update: Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com originally reported Bandido had in fact signed his deal, but has since said this was incorrect and that a source close to the luchador said he hadn’t signed yet.
Bandido recently took part in an interview with Mas Lucha and said he believes he’ll likely end up in AEW, sharing that Tony Khan said he needs him in the company. In addition, Bandido also shared that he recently received an offer from WWE, but he remains in talks with AEW.
