Liv Morgan challenges Ronda Rousey to Extreme Rules. IMPACT Wrestling gears up for Victory Road. Toni Storm defends her Interim AEW Women’s Championship, and more! Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!

WWE Gears Up For Extreme Rules: Morgan Challenges Rousey To Extreme Stipulation

Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey will take their title match to the extreme.

Last week on Friday Night Smackdown, Liv Morgan challenged “The Baddest Woman On The Planet” to a fierce match stipulation. In a backstage segment, Morgan pointed out to Rousey that she pinned her not once, but twice. Therefore, Morgan should have her respect. To finally earn that respect, Liv Morgan shocked Ronda with an interesting proposal: an Extreme Rules match

Rousey laughed, issuing a warning to Liv Morgan. “It’s your funeral,” she exclaimed, officially accepting the match stipulation.

Liv Morgan will now defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match on October 8th at the corresponding WWE pay-per-view.

Rousey previously won a #1 Contendership Fatal Five-Way Elimination match to earn a title opportunity at Extreme Rules, There, she outlasted and defeated Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans, Xia Li, and Natalya.

Bayley Challenges Bianca Belair

Damage CTRL continues to run RAW.

Last night on RAW, Damage CTRL gained another leg up on the women’s division. First appearing in an in-ring segment, Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai proclaimed that they have control in the locker room. Furthermore, they declared the division would be better off without competitors like Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Bianca Belair.

Bayley continued to brag about his recent pinfall over RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at Clash at the Castle. Before they can continue, Bliss, Asuka and Belair emerge unpleased.

After some fierce words between Belair and Bayley, Bayley turned her attention to Alexa Bliss and Asuka. Bayley called Bliss a mere shell of her former self, which Bliss didn’t take too kindly. In turn, Alexa Bliss challenged Bayley to a match later in the evening.

Later in the main event of RAW, Bayley arrived with IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to take on Alexa Bliss–who came accompanied by Bianca Belair and Asuka. A lot of back-and-forth action ensued, but in the end, Bayley scored the pinfall after Bliss missed her signature Twisted Bliss.

After the match, Damage CTRL cleared out all their foes, with Bayley landing a nasty Rose Plant on Bianca Belair. As Belair laid in distress, Bayley demanded her title opportunity for WWE Extreme Rules.

A recap of the main event match can be read below, courtesy of our live coverage page.

BAYLEY W/DAMAGE CTRL VS. ALEXA BLISS W/BIANCA BELAIR AND ASUKA

After a distraction from Damage CTRL, Bayley takes control over, working over Bliss’ knee. Bliss fires up and hits Insult to Injury. Bayley kicks out, Bayley and Bliss trade pin attempts. Bayley hits a Bayley-to-Belly. Bliss kicks out. Bayley tries a Bayley-to-Belly off the second rope. Bliss puts on the brakes and hits a sunset bomb. Bayley tries a pin with her feet on the ropes. Belair pushes them off. Sky and Kai attack Belair. Bliss hits a DDT. Bliss goes up top and misses Twisted Bliss. Bayley pins Bliss.

IMPACT Victory Road Preview

Jordynne Grace Meets Her Poison

Jordynne Grace now knows who her poison will be.

On September 23rd. Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will compete at Victory Road in a “Pick Your Poison”match. Her Bound For Glory opponent Masha Slamovich held the power in selecting Grace’s opponent. This past week on IMPACT Wrestling, the identity of Grace’s opponent was unveiled.

“The Warlord Of The Wasteland”, Max The Impaler will step up to face Jordynne Grace this Friday, but they don’t come alone. Father James Mitchell will also stand in Max’s corner amidst this highly anticipated matchup.

IMPACT Wrestling released the following statement ahead of this “Pick Your Poison” battle:

Before Jordynne Grace defends the Knockouts World Title against the undefeated Masha Slamovich at Bound For Glory, Pick Your Poison comes to Victory Road. Just two weeks prior to their high-stakes title showdown, Slamovich will handpick Jordynne’s opponent for singles competition. And that opponent is – Max the Impaler! With Father James Mitchell in their corner, will Max spell doom for Jordynne’s aspirations of remaining champion on the biggest stage of the year?

Gisele Shaw Confronts Mickie James, Mia Yim In X-Division Title Picture

The Knockouts action at Victory Road doesn’t stop there though. Mickie James will continue her last rodeo, colliding with “The Quintessential Diva” Gisele Shaw on her next stop.

Following James’ victory over Hyan, Shaw emerged to confront the former four-time Knockouts Champion. Shaw declared that James was trying to “delay the inevitable” by facing nobodies. In turn, Gisele Shaw challenged Mickie James to a match to prove she “can hang” with the women’s division. James accepted, cementing their upcoming battle for Victory Road.

Per IMPACT Wrestling,

It was just a few weeks ago when Mickie James made an emotional announcement, revealing her intentions to start at the bottom and work her way back up to a Knockouts World Title opportunity. But to prove that she can still go toe to toe with the best, Mickie set her own stipulation that if she loses a match along the way, her career will be over. Following her second victory, Mickie was confronted by Gisele Shaw who stole the spotlight from the Knockouts legend. Shaw vowed to be the one to end Mickie’s career and challenged her to a match at Victory Road. Can Mickie keep her momentum – and her career – alive? Or will Shaw bring her “last rodeo” to a screeching halt?

Lastly, Mia Yim finds herself intermingled in a X-Division Triple Threat Revolver matchup at Victory Road. Eight participants will compete for an X-Division Championship title shot. The winner will then go on to vie at Bound For Glory next month on October 7th.
