The ROH World Championship will be defended at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
During the September 16 edition of AEW Rampage, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta appeared in the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Castagnoli hyped up the Blackpool Combat Club until Chris Jericho interrupted.
The leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society talked about how he’s been world champion everywhere he’s been, but he’s never held the Ring of Honor World Championship. Jericho laid down the challenge for Dynamite, and Castagnoli promised to beat the hell out of him.
“The one place I’ve never been World Champion is in @ringofhonor, and 7 (World Championships) isn’t enough for me… I’m going for the Ocho!”@IAmJericho challenges champion @ClaudioCSRO for the #ROH World Title at Arthur Ashe Stadium in NY! It’s #AEWRampage on @tntdrama! pic.twitter.com/nQ0V1Q9DF3
