NJPW star Great-O-Khan shared his belief that AEW has “unrefined” wrestlers, but he commended MJF.
Alongside Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan appeared on multiple episodes of AEW TV ahead of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, where the duo lost their IWGP World Tag Team Championship in a Winner Takes All Match against FTR and Roppongi Vice.
Speaking to Wrestle Inn, he was asked to share his thoughts on his experience working with AEW. He stated that it felt like the company is full of “indy wrestlers.”
“We felt that AEW is full of Indy wrestlers,” Great-O-Khan said. “There are plenty of formidable wrestlers there, but they are unrefined and ill-educated. A shame.”
When asked about MJF, who previously noted he’s a fan of Khan, he stated that he hasn’t seen or heard of “The Salt of the Earth”, but it’s clear that he truly understands what professional wrestling is all about.
“We care not for pro-wrestling, so we haven’t seen or heard of MJF,” Great-O-Khan said. “Yet clearly he is one of a precious few who truly understand the meaning of true ‘professional wrestling’, and we think he must be one of the very best in the world.”
MJF recently returned to AEW; more information is available here.
