This week’s episode of AEW Rampage featured some big matches and the return of Samoa Joe, and next week will aim to top it.
As confirmed by All Elite Wrestling during the September 9 edition of the show, the September 16 episode of AEW Rampage will feature an ROH World Television Championship match. Samoa Joe appeared on the show for the first time since he returned at AEW All Out. He noted that he had been gone for a while, so he stated that his title is now open for business. “Smart” Mark Sterling interrupted and made the case for Josh Woods, one of his clients, as a title contender. Joe agreed that Woods deserved a title shot, but Sterling wanted to wait until next week.

Samoa Joe has held the title since he beat Minoru Suzuki on the April 13 episode of AEW Dynamite. Woods, a former ROH Pure Champion, will aim to capture the gold and bring it to Sterling’s stable.
