It looks like Solo Sikoa will be getting called up to the main roster in the near future.
According to a new report from PWInsider.com, Solo Sikoa will reportedly join the Smackdown brand and he is set to appear “ASAP”. This follows a report from the outlet last week that stated there’s been a lot of recent talk within the WWE NXT circles that Sikoa, 29, could be main roster bound in the very near future.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported at the beginning of July that “serious discussions” had emerged about moving Sikoa, one of the top NXT 2.0 stars, to RAW or SmackDown. At the time, no time frame or brand destination was set for Sikoa’s possible call-up.
Solo Sikoa is the brother of The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos. Additionally, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is indeed his cousin. Collectively as “The Bloodline”, Reigns and The Usos have dominated Smackdown brand. Although not confirmed, a path for Sikoa to align with The Bloodline seems possible.
Sikoa first made his in-ring debut on the November 2nd, 2021 episode of WWE NXT 2.0. Sikoa maintained a consistent on-screen presence since then and he has received multiple NXT North American Championship title match opportunities. Sikoa last competed in a Falls Count Anywhere match against Von Wagner on the August 2 episode of NXT 2.0. The following week, WWE announced that Sikoa would be out of action for 4-6 weeks following a knee injury, which was reportedly believed to be a sprained PCL.
With a potential main roster move looming, Sikoa’s current injury and recovery status is unknown as of this writing. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
