It appears that Tony Khan is teasing some big things in the future for All Elite Wrestling this week between tonight’s episode of Dynamite and All Out on Sunday.
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was a guest on Busted Open Radio this morning with Dave LaGreca, Mickie James, and Tommy Dreamer to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the strange build leading into All Out with so much left to be done on tonight’s episode of Dynamite, Khan stated that tonight’s episode will be the most eventful go-home show he’s ever done.
“Tonight is going to be the most eventful go-home show I’ve ever been a part of,” Tony Khan said. “We’ve done, I guess now; this will be the 15th AEW pay-per-view, including Forbidden Door. And we’ve had this amazing run of shows. And I believe never has a go-home TV been so important as tonight. There’s so many implications, so many stakes still out there for this pay-per-view. And I think that’s what makes this week really exciting. It’s different not to have everything tied up nice and neatly the week going into the pay-per-view, but I think it’s a good different.
“I wouldn’t necessarily do it like this every time, but some of the circumstances with when people have been available with injuries and other circumstances has led to it being this build, and I’ll tell you what, the final card is going to be amazing. Sunday’s All Out is going to be incredible. And tonight on Dynamite, you’re gonna get a lot of great stuff. Great wrestling, great promos, and we’re gonna continue some great story and start some great story tonight.”
Dave LaGreca went on to bring up a lot of the criticisms wrestling fans have had online in terms of the way stories are being told heading into the pay-per-view. Khan responded by saying it’s fine as long as the fans are watching and having a good time. He also ended by saying that the fans are always right and that their opinions are the most important ones, teasing big things for this weekend’s pay-per-view in the process.
“I think as long as everybody can watch the show and have a good time, however people want to react, it’s fine,” Tony Khan said. “I think the fans are always right. And if I left them with a lot of questions going into the pay-per-view, for some people, that may be unsettling because they’re not used to that. It’s a different way to do it. But it was a big success. It brought a huge rating. And I still think we’re going to have a great audience for the pay-per-view, and hopefully, it’ll actually influence it in a very positive way.
“But it’s okay for people to have questions and sometimes express their questions in frustration or anger. I think it’s perfectly normal. It’s obviously a different way to get from point A to point C. It’s not just going directly through point B in a straight line this time, and I think it’s good, but there’ll be a lot of exciting things, including a lot of great wrestling action tonight on TBS on Dynamite and we’re going to learn a lot about the pay-per-view. And I’m really excited about it.
“But I’ll tell you this, and you’ll hear me say this for the rest of the week, and remember this, the fans are always right. I’ll always listen to the fans. Their opinions are always the most important ones. And I hope by the end of the week; the fans understand how much I care about them. How much I care about pro wrestling and how important AEW is to me, and also I hope everybody sees how strong AEW can be going forward for the rest of 2022 and for many, many years in the future.”
