Jungle Boy: I Didn’t Like The Way Jurassic Express Won The AEW Tag Titles, But It Was A Special Experience

In hindsight, Jungle Boy doesn’t like the way Jurassic Express won the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

“Jungle Boy Jack”, as Jim Ross calls him, won the gold alongside Luchasaurus on the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite. At the end of the match, Rey Fenix broke his arm, which soured the mood after the match.

During an appearance on Steven’s Wrestling Journey, Jungle Boy named his favorite moments of his AEW career and noted that he didn’t like the way the title win went down. However, he emphasized that it was still a very special experience.

“My most memorable moments, I think would be, the first tag team match that we had in AEW,” said Jungle Boy. “In the very beginning, people just had such a great reaction to us being together, and I think we had both just kind of come off the independents and been working really hard to get signed, and we were finally there. Then to just have such a great response to what we were doing felt really cool. Winning the tag team belts. I kinda didn’t like the way it happened exactly. There was some stuff that kinda went wrong at the end. Fenix got hurt, which is never nice, and there were some hi-jinx going on that I didn’t fully love, but still, to win the tag team belts in the best wrestling company in the world with my best friend was just a really special experience.”

He went on to describe how the duo’s ladder match against the Young Bucks was one of the best matches they ever had, and he stated that they have always looked up to the Jackson brothers.

“That street fight you mentioned was one of both of our favorites, and also the last tag match that we had, we ended up losing it and then Christian ended up smashing my head with a chair right after, which wasn’t great, but the match we had right before it was a ladder match with the Young Bucks,” said Jungle Boy. “The Young Buck are probably our favorite tag team to watch, they’re amazing. We felt it was one of the best we’d ever had, and it was just really cool after everything we’d been through to go out there with people that we had watched and idolized and were kinda like mentors to us, to go out there and have this amazing match. What happened after obviously has kinda taken over, but I think we’ll always have that match. We came from not even being a tag team to being I’d say one of the top teams in the company, so it’s been a cool ride.”
