A member of the inaugural WWE Next in line class has been arrested.
As first reported by The Oklahoman, WWE NIL signee AJ Ferrari has been charged with a felony count of sexual battery. There was a warrant issued for his arrest on Wednesday, August 3, and bond was set at $25,000
Ferrari was accused of sexual assault on July 5, following an alleged incident on July 2. The accuser, a Stillwater, Oklahoma woman, filed and received an emergency protective order. A hearing is scheduled for September 15.
“The Ferrari Family is disappointed by the State’s decision to file this charge,” Ferrari’s attorney, Derek Chance, told The Oklahoman in an emailed statement. “We remain confident that through the legal process, A.J. Jr. will be exonerated, as he is innocent and the facts will no doubt prove it.”
Oklahoma State University announced on July 13 that Ferrari was no longer with the wrestling team.
WWE has yet to comment on the matter.
