Montez Ford‘s top priority in WWE remains chasing greatness alongside his tag team partner, Angelo Dawkins.
Many fans continue to predict that the duo, collectively known as The Street Profits, will split up at some point soon because Ford is viewed as a breakout star in the making. Together The Street Profits have won the gold on all three brands, so breaking off into singles runs has seemed like a natural step for the team.
But in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Ford stated that he’s not ready to shift his focus to singles wrestling yet because he believes The Street Profits have a lot left to accomplish.
“The difference between singles wrestling and being part of a tag team is that all the attention is on you,” Ford said. “I’m not ready to shift my focus yet. There is still a lot left for me to attain with Dawkins. SummerSlam is a huge opportunity. We want to make that night special.”
Moving forward, Ford intends to keep giving 100% of himself to the fans because he appreciates the platform that he has.
“I am blessed to be on this platform,” Ford said. “I don’t lose sight of that. I’m giving 100% of myself to the fans, just like WWE stars did once for me. I have the chance to give something positive to them, and that’s what I am going to continue to do.”
The Street Profits will challenge The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WWE SummerSlam.
