Jeff Hardy has been ordered to appear for arraignment on August 2 at 2:30pm in front of Volusia County Court per a new report from PWInsider. This means Hardy will be formally advised of the criminal charges against him and asked to enter a plea to the charges. This news comes despite Hardy already submitting a written plea of ‘not guilty’ several weeks ago.
Jeff Hardy is currently undergoing treatment according to AEW President Tony Khan. Hardy is currently suspended without pay by AEW and this will continue until Hardy has proven that he can maintain sobriety.
Hardy was arrested last month and charged for his third DUI in ten years. The charge is a felony under Florida law, punishable up to five years’ imprisonment, should Hardy be convicted. The other charges would fall under misdemeanors.
His other arrests were in March of 2018 and October of 2019. He was also arrested in July of 2019 for public intoxication and impairment.
Jeff Hardy signed with AEW in March 2022 just shortly after his 90-day no compete ended with WWE. Hardy last appeared for WWE at a live event in December 2021 in which he walked out during the match through the crowd. WWE requested Hardy place himself into rehab, which he turned down, leading to his release from the company.
Potentially feeling bad about the decision, WWE attempted to bring Jeff Hardy back to WWE by offering him an induction into the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame class, which Hardy turned down.
