Sarah Logan was over the moon when Liv Morgan won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Logan and Morgan are close friends in real life, and they worked together for several years, alongside Ruby Riott, as the Riott Squad. Logan and Riott were released from WWE in 2020 and 2021, respectively, but the trio remains connected outside of WWE. As a result, the former stablemates were watching WWE Money in the Bank and rooting Morgan on as she won the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match and went on to beat Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
On the July 6 episode of WWE’s The Bump, Logan appeared as a guest star and congratulated Morgan on her victory. She made it clear that she was proud of her friend, and she noted that Morgan has had a difficult journey to get to this point.
“I feel like everyone’s throwing around proud but like the tremendous amount of proudness I felt was just like, everyone says it’s good to see the good guys get one, you know, but Liv, I don’t think you guys understand, when she cut her promo about how grateful she is or when she thanks people, when she gets emotional, when she sees people crying, she means that more than anyone will know,” said Morgan. “There was more than one time when Liv like checked me because you’re at the airport, it’s 3 AM, I’m trying to get home and Liv was like, ‘No, Sarah [inaudible], mean the most to us and these are the people that are gonna take us places.’ And she was taken to that place just because of how much people love her.
“I know WWE did that fantastic documentary about Liv’s life, but no one has a past like her. No one has struggled like her, no one is gonna appreciate this more than she does. It’s just a non-factor. No one can be as grateful as she is, and I think she’s having a hard time explaining to people just how grateful she is. Because she doesn’t feel deserving, but there’s no one more that deserves it and I’m so, look at this, [points to teary eyes], I’m so happy for happy for you. I love you too. And I’m so happy for you, dude, genuinely, genuinely, genuinely. I love you.”
Morgan then looked back on her bond with Logan and Riott and stated that she was thinking of them when she unhooked the Money in the Bank briefcase.
“It’s what I think climbing the ladder, it’s what I think about with the briefcase,” said Morgan. “As soon as I grabbed that briefcase, I thought of you and [Ruby]. I thought of you and Rue and I just was like, I hope you guys are watching.”
Logan continued by emphasizing that the former Riott Squad members have been through a lot together, and these trials built a friendship that will last forever.
“Every big moment in our young professional lives was spent together, and nothing brings people together like big moments and tragedies and happiness,” said Logan. “And so the fact that we experienced all that together and we were together, whether it was fun, whether it was angry, whether it was sad, whether it was frustrating, we were together, and it created a bond that will never be broken. Never.
“I could go forever without seeing Liv and I could see her and we’d just pick right back up. That’s the epitome of a true friend, and I know that no matter what happens, I could call Liv and Ruby, and they would be there, 100%.”
