The Creed Brothers will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship at WWE NXT The Great American Bash.
On the June 28 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, Joe Gacy tried to recruit the duo to join him, but they refused and stated that the Diamond Mine is a family. Roderick Strong arrived and set the stage for a six-man tag team bout between the Diamond Mine trio and Gacy and his Dyad. The bout was a hard-fought contest, but the dissension between Strong and the Creed Brothers, which has been bubbling for several weeks, erupted during the contest. Strong tagged himself in and upset Brutus Creed in the process. He argued with his stablemate, and the Dyad capitalized by pinning the veteran.
The Creed Brothers argued with Strong after the match, and the disagreement continued when they went backstage. Strong said Julius and Brutus need to listen to him, but they said that’s all they do, and it’s still not good enough. Frustrated, Strong stated that he needed to teach the brothers a lesson, and the only way to do that would be to face them in a match next week. He declared that he and fellow Diamond Mine member Damon Kemp will take the titles from the Creed Brothers next week.

WWE subsequently confirmed the match for the show next week.
