It doesn’t seem like Jake Atlas will return to All Elite Wrestling any time soon.
The former WWE NXT wrestler suffered a torn ACL in January, just days after he signed with AEW. He went down with the injury in his first televised match with the promotion. During his recovery, Atlas was arrested for domestic assault.
In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful cited sources who said that Atlas will not be coming back to AEW; he was on a per-appearance deal, which was “paused” after his injury. As a result, he isn’t linked to the promotion anymore.
Atlas signed with WWE in 2019 and debuted on NXT TV in April 2020. The company released him in a wave of budget cuts on August 6, 2021. He then competed at ROH Death Before Dishonor in September before he stepped away from wrestling. Atlas returned at the AEW Dark: Elevation taping on December 28, and the company subsequently signed him.
