Troy Donovan says he’ll be back.
One day after his reported WWE release, Troy Donovan posted the following statement in regards to his status:
“Thank you to everyone who’s reached out. Mistakes happen and lessons are learned. A bump in the road doesn’t define me though. I’ll be back,” Donovan wrote.
According to a report from F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer, WWE released Donovan on June 11 due to a “policy issue.” Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also confirmed Donovan’s release. The initial report claimed that Donovan was told he might be brought back in the future, but no other details about his departure, including the reported policy violation, are known at this time.
Donovan was known as Cole Karter prior to signing with WWE in March. Most recently, Donovan had been featured on WWE NXT 2.0 as Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan alongside Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo as part of Tony D’Angelo’s stable.
D’Angelo, Donovan and Lorenzo defeated Legado Del Fantasma at NXT In Your House. He also competed at the NXT tapings on June 8, but that content has not aired yet. Check out full spoilers for the next two weeks of NXT at this link.
