Bron Breakker will defend the WWE NXT Championship at NXT In Your House on June 4.
At NXT Spring Breakin’, Breakker defeated Joe Gacy to successfully retain the gold; they had already been feuding for several weeks at that point. After the match, some of Gacy’s goons abducted Breakker and dumped him in a field. Gacy subsequently invited Breakker to join him and be part of his movement. On the May 17 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, Breakker, who was angered by Gacy’s repeated attacks on him and his family, stormed to the ring and demanded a fight with his foe.
Breakker said he wanted to unleash all of his frustration on Gacy, who previously took his father, Rick Steiner, hostage. Gacy responded by saying that he’d give Breakker another match with him, but he wanted to up the stakes. He then challenged Breakker to put the title on the line at NXT In Your House, but he stated that if the champion loses control and gets disqualified, he’ll lose the title. Breakker accepted the terms, so the title bout is set for the show.
