Keith Lee wants to elevate All Elite Wrestling in a variety of ways.
“The Limitless One” made his AEW debut in February after WWE released him in a wave of cuts last November. Since he joined Tony Khan’s promotion, the former NXT Champion has been a featured member of the roster. He competed in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match at the Revolution pay-per-view, and he is currently engaged in a feud with Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs. Lee continues to impress with his athleticism, and it seems like he has a bright future with the company.
During an appearance on MackMania with Evan T. Mack, Flobo Boyce, and Jack Farmer,
Lee was asked about potentially working with Ring of Honor, a company he once starred for before he signed with WWE. This move would be possible, as AEW president Tony Khan also owns ROH. In response, Lee stated that he’s focused on helping “raise the bar” in AEW, but he’d be open to potentially wrestling in a ROH ring if the right opportunity came along.
“Considering that I have just recently joined AEW, I’m pretty committed to trying to raise the bar there in a multitude of ways,” said Lee. “Like something about more marketing or an interest in just growing the name itself. It’s kind of my goal and purpose right now. And Ring of Honor is something I haven’t seen since 2017, I believe. But I’d be willing to have a match there under the right circumstances. There’s quite a few, and they’re interesting.”
The powerhouse went on to name Samoa Joe as one opponent he’d be interested in facing, and he also discussed Joe’s meaningful impact on his career.
“Like Mr. Samoa Joe, he’s a circumstance where I would consider him to be a bit of a mentor, especially from the business side, he taught me a lot,” said Lee. “And for all intents and purposes, he’s the reason that I ever took a chance going to the east coast. If it was not for his advice, him and one Mr. Brian Cage, I never would have gone to the east coast. I never would have had that match with [Dominik] Dijak that kind of changed the trajectory of my career as a whole. I could have been just another dude stuck in Texas doing random stuff. But yeah there’s something special about those letters, especially when you come from it and it’s something that helped build who you are. But yeah I’d be open to fighting there.”
