PROGRESS Wrestling Announce Brackets For 2022 Atlas Tournament
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PROGRESS Wrestling have today announced the bracket for the upcoming return of the Atlas Tournament that will take place across back-to-back events on Sunday 17th April and Monday 18th April at the Electric Ballroom in London.
The tournament will see eight heavyweight competitors come together to face off in a single elimination tournament that will end with the crowning of a brand new Atlas Champion – the first since the title was unified with the PROGRESS World Championship by WWE NXT’s Gunther (Then known as WALTER) in 2019.
In order to whet the appetite of fans, the first match in the tournament will be released on PROGRESS Wrestling’s YouTube channel on Thursday 7th April. This match will see one of the hottest heavyweights in the world, JONAH face off against the u-and-coming Pennsylvania-born Schaff.
The remaining three first round matches will take place at Chapter 132: By the Beard of Zeus! On Sunday 17th April.
The first of these matches will see Warren Banks return to a PROGRESS ring for the first time since coming so close to defeating Jonathan Gresham for the PROGRESS World Championship at The 10th Anniversary show in late March. He will face the German veteran Axel Tischer.
Joe Hendry, the Scottish superstar making waves across the world, will make his long-awaited PROGRESS Wrestling debut when he faces a man making his first PROGRESS appearance since 2019, Rickey Shane Page.
Rounding out the tournament bracket is another man making an eagerly-anticipated return to PROGRESS, Big Damo, facing the youngest competitor in the tournament, representing North West Strong, Luke Jacobs.
The tournament will culminate at Chapter 133: Stop Motion Skeleton Battle on Monday 18th April, Easter Bank Holiday in the UK when the crowd at The Electric Ballroom will witness a new champion crowned.
Tickets for both events are on sale now at Progresswrestling.com. Fans can purchase event tickets individually or purchase an ‘Atlas Weekender’ ticket covering both events at a special combined price.
Further matches for both events will be confirmed over the coming days.
