JONAH knows first-hand that sh-t happens.
During an appearance on IMPACT Wrestling’s CALLIHAN UNCENSORED podcast, JONAH recalled some unfortunate incidents that have come with being a pro wrestling, including losing his lunch backstage and pooping his pants in the ring.
“I’ve thrown up literally in Gorilla, right before going out of a match, my first Japanese wrestling match I had, my first match I was nervous, but I was also very hungover. Right before going out, I was like, here’s the curtain, I was like [imitates puking] and then quickly go through. But I’ve done the same thing, where as soon as I came back through the curtains, thrown up as well, from being, not from alcohol,” he explained to Callihan, “but from being actually sick and still performing. But I’ve never thrown up in a match, which is great. I have pooped myself, though. I pooped myself in NXT.”
JONAH then went into detail about the time he defecated during a match, which happened during his time in NXT.
“Well unfortunately I didn’t have a classic match to match with the poop situation. It was on a NXT [the company’s self-proclaimed “Coconut Loop”] live event, we’d travel around Florida. I don’t remember which town we were in, one of the armories. I was wrestling fellow Australian Duke Hudson and because we’re close friends,” he noted, “we trained with each other, we go back like since we were 18. He just decided to f-ck with me, and during the heat, he double-stomped me and he’s a 295-pound man at the time, who double-stomps me in the stomach.
“I had eaten, I don’t know what I had eaten for lunch but as soon as he double stomped me, it just shot out into my gear. And I remember feeling it. I couldn’t smell it, but I could feel it. It was there. I could feel it really easily. I remember saying to him, ‘we gotta go home, we gotta go home, we gotta go home.’ Because in my head, I’m like if just a little bit of the poop started trailing down my leg, everyone has phones, everyone’s gonna take photos,” JONAH said, “and then I’d be the poop guy.”
