The 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finalists still are in the running for 2022. Both MSK and Grizzled Young Veterans advanced to the next round of the annual tournament on the January 25 episode of WWE NXT 2.0.
MSK was the first to advance, as they defeated Jacket Time in the opening match. After the hard-fought battle, the four fighters exchanged a moment of respect post-battle.

The same could not be said for the GYV as they defeated Andre Chase and his “student” Bodhi Hayward. GYV got the W against Chase U and before a newly aligned Von Wagner and Robert Stone attacked the studious duo all in an effort to add insult to injury.
