Mikey Rukus, the maestro of music in AEW, has commented on the company’s hip hop collaboration for Black History Month in February. Mark Henry first shared the news in an interview with Danny Ocean.
In a string of tweets, Rukus, AEW’s music producer, previewed the project and described how it’s been in the works for some time now. He also described the goal to highlight black excellence with “pure, authentic storytelling.”
This has been in the works for a while. To give a better understanding. I assembled many familiar producers, musicians, rappers/artists within our pro wrestling space to come together and make amazing music that tells the stories of our black talent. This is a celebration of black excellence. It is pure, authentic storytelling. Each star getting an original song written about their come up. We will press a limited commemorative CD for purchase with 100% of the proceeds going to charity.

Per Rukus, the collaboration will include music from AEW stars Max Caster, Lio Rush, Sonny Kiss, and Isiah Kassidy. Rukus also named Mega Ran, Josiah Williams, Monteasy, and Brinson, among others, as contributors. Caster is known for rapping himself and The Acclaimed to the ring, and Williams previously worked for WWE NXT. He performs Shawn Spears’ theme song, and Mega Ran is on King Woods’ current theme.
As Rukus noted, all proceed will go to charity.
