Matt Striker is leaving IMPACT Wrestling.
Mike Johnson of PWIinsider reported the news after Striker shared and subsequently deleted a tweet in which he stated that his time with IMPACT is “done.”
The tweet in question read as follows:
“I am disappointed that my time with #ImpactonAXSTV is done. I REALLY enjoyed that locker room. Thanks for allowing me to tell your story. Thanks, everyone. Stay safe.”
Striker, alongside D’Lo Brown, started his run as a lead commentator for IMPACT at Hard To Kill 2021. Per Johnson, Brown is still on the commentary team. It’s unclear who will replace Striker.
Previously, Striker had a memorable run as a broadcaster with WWE from 2008-2013. He then served as Lucha Underground’s lead English broadcaster from 2014-2018, and he has also worked for AAA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
