King Woods and Sir Kofi Kingston of the New Day have officially challenged The Usos to a title match at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, and the match has been added to the card.
During the December 3 episode of WWE SmackDown, Jey Uso faced King Xavier Woods, but prior to the bout, Woods had some great news for himself and the WWE Universe, as he announced that his New Day teammate — and now Hand of the King — “Sir” Kofi Kingston was back. Kingston had been absent for the past several weeks; The Bloodline brutally attacked him on the November 5 episode of WWE SmackDown, and prior to his return on Friday night, he hadn’t been seen ever since
In the match between Uso and Woods, things broke down pretty quickly, with the bout ending up being called off due to disqualification when a brawl between Jimmy Uso and Kingston kick-started a huge brawl between the two teams.
The New Day ended the brawl by chasing the Usos off while Roman Reigns disapprovingly looked on from his proverbial throne backstage. Later in the night, Woods and Kingston threw down the gauntlet for a title match at WWE Day 1.
