Rich Swann revealed his favorite Linkin Park song and it seems like he’s still taking his loss to Kenny Omega earlier this year pretty hard.
Former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Rich Swann was a recent guest on WrestlingSport to discuss all things IMPACT Wrestling. When asked about how the creative process is in IMPACT Wrestling compared to other companies he’s worked for, Swann believes IMPACT’s creative brings things back to pro wrestling:
“You know the creative process is definitely something that’s, you know, brings it back to pro wrestling, brings it back to what you feel,” Rich Swann said. “How does this story make you feel? And that’s what helps IMPACT Wrestling fans get so involved with our product. Because everything we do we do for a reason and we do it to elevate something or to make something bigger and, you know, with these things that we do here at IMPACT Wrestling it’s not just somebody throwing a piece of paper in your face and telling you it’s a collective whole that brings, you know, the talent and the roster that helps this whole program move forward and that’s the difference with IMPACT.”
When asked about his rivalry with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega earlier this year, Swann credits Omega for helping him get his career to the next level:
“Man, wrestling Kenny Omega definitely helped me get to the next level in my career, with the match I had with Kenny Omega, the history that, you know, we made, you know, with only two world championships defended, one ring, two different companies on pay-per-view,” Rich Swann said. “What I’m saying and combining those two companies is something that hasn’t been done in North America in the last 20 to 30 years, and just being a part of that was huge, I mean, it got me into the Top 10 of 500 people in PWI and that’s only 500 people that did that. There are so many wrestlers in this whole world and there are so many wrestlers that I think are pretty amazing. I didn’t even try to be on that list and I was in the top 10, so you know it probably never would have happened if I hadn’t had that main event match with Kenny Omega.”
A more off-topic question in regards to his favorite rock song, Rich Swann named a hit track from Linkin Park and compared it to the feeling he had after losing the IMPACT World Championship to Kenny Omega:
“Man, I would probably say my favorite song would have to be ‘In the End’ by Linkin Park,” Rich Swann revealed. “Because sometimes in the end it doesn’t matter, sometimes in the end no matter how hard you train it, no matter how hard you work, no matter, you know, the time you put in and the effort you put in sometimes you’ll fall off that horse, but the thing is it also has the aspect of even if you go backwards, go for that horse, you can get your ass up and get back on and keep riding, man, that’s definitely been one of my songs that, especially after I lost the World Championship to Kenny Omega, that’s been a song that I’ve listened to.”
