Ahead of this weekend’s Revolution Pro shows in the United Kingdom, it has been revealed that the “real” IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay has COVID-19.
Earlier this morning, Revolution Pro took to social media to make the announcement regarding Ospreay’s status. While he will obviously not be appearing on their shows this weekend, they expect him back for High Stakes on September 19:
“Will Ospreay has tested positive for Covid-19. He is fully vaccinated, only has mild symptoms & is otherwise healthy. He will be following protocols and will be out of this weekend’s shows. He is still expected to be able to compete at September 19th’s High Stakes,” Revolution Pro tweeted.
An hour later, Will Ospreay himself confirmed these reports with a video message to his fans on social media:
“Hello people, so the rumors are true; I’ve got COVID,” Ospreay confirmed. “Yeah, but I’m fully vaccinated. I’ll be fine. So, I’ll just rest for these next 10 days. I’ll keep you updated. I’m sure I’ll be back in like no time soon. So, other than that, I hope everybody’s well. Sorry that I can’t come out to the Rev Pro shows this weekend, but still going to be a killer show it’s still full of loads of amazing talent, just not as good as me, because pretty much the best f**king wrestler in the world. So, unfortunately, guys you have to deal with, like, really, really good wrestling, but just not the best wrestling because the best wrestler is currently battling COVID. I’m going to beat COVID. Why? Because I am on another level.”
