It’s The New Day, yes it is.
On the final chapter of “WWE’s 50 Greatest Tag Teams”, a limited series on Peacock and WWE Network, the trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E was revealed as the team at the top of the list. Collectively, The New Day has won 11 tag team championships across both WWE RAW and WWE SmackDown. They were named the Men’s Tag Team of the Year at the WWE Year-End Awards in 2019. Pro Wrestling Illustrated also honored the trio as the Tag Team of the Year in both 2015 and 2016.
In order, the rest of the top five included The Hardy Boyz, the Hart Foundation, Edge & Christian, and The Dudley Boyz.
Big E shared his thoughts on the news in a post on a Twitter. He acknowledged the likelihood that many people might disagree with this result. Big E also expressed his gratitude for his successful run alongside Kingston and Woods.
I know many will disagree with the list but being named the greatest tag team of all time makes me reflect on our journey. I’m massively grateful for @TrueKofi & @AustinCreedWins. I’m thankful we bet on ourselves & were unafraid to pursue a path that felt right for us.
