Eva Marie officially made her return to the ring during this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, though few fans could have predicted the way this appearance unfolded.

Though Marie had been advertised for a match against Naomi, NXT UK star Piper Niven took her place, as the leader of the “EVA-Lution” said Niven would be wrestling on her behalf. In the match, Niven made short work of Naomi’ she quickly dropped her with a Michinoku Driver for the win.

After the bout, Marie got back on the microphone and said that she had won the contest, though she never actually got in the ring. Regardless, Marie’s appearance on Monday night officially kicked off her return to the red brand, and it began with a victory.
