Eva Marie has been released by WWE.
WWE made several cuts on Thursday, with Eva Marie being one of the names confirmed by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp as being released by the company. According to Sapp, budget cuts were cited as the reason for the releases in an email sent to talent by John Laurinaitis.
It was initially reported that Eva Marie signed a new deal with WWE in October 2020. She finally returned for her second stint with the company in May of 2021, welcomed back by a vignette that promoted the “Eva-Lution.” Soon after, Eva aligned with Doudrop, and had feuds with Alexa Bliss and Doudrop herself. Her last appearance came on the September 27 edition of RAW, when she was attacked by Shayna Baszler. WWE then explained her absence by claiming Baszler’s attack resulted in a (storyline) arm injury.
Eva Marie’s final match in WWE took place the week prior, a loss to Doudrop on the September 20 episode of RAW.
