Triple H isn’t too keen on having a proper send-off at WrestleMania.
“The Game” recently spoke with ESPN’s Arda Ocal ahead of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver about a myriad of topics but perhaps most notably commenting on a potential final WrestleMania match.
“The funny thing is, in my mind, it’s not a big deal to me,” HHH explained to Ocal on a possible final WrestleMania match.
“[Ric] Flair keeps telling me, ‘you’ll regret it, you’ll regret it’ but just to have had so many great people to work with, it’s so much work and so much pressure and maybe if I hadn’t have found the other side of it, the NXT side and the production side that I enjoy so much, maybe I would feel differently about it,” HHH continued. “But, I have peace with all of it. If I were to say I was going to have one more match, the WrestleMania factor isn’t a big deal to me.”
On his ideal retirement scenario:
“What I’d actually like to do is at some point wrestle at The [Madison Square] Garden, then a few days later wrestle in Chicago at the Allstate Arena and then wrestle at the Staples [Center] one more time,” HHH admitted.
“I’d even go to Japan and wrestle there, go to the O2 [Arena] and wrestle there and go to [The SSE] Hydro in Glasgow. Ya know, go there and make one more trip to those places that stuck out in your career. It’s not even so much about the wrestling as it as about getting in the ring and tipping your cap to the fans. Just a few years ago I had a little run where for some reason I went to Japan and wrestled with AJ [Styles], [Luke] Gallows and [Karl] Anderson and had a little run where I did some stuff with The Shield. It was just so fun to be able to go do those events.”
