Anyone who watches Being The Elite will know that John Silver had a special bond with Brodie Lee. The diminutive follower of the Dark Order was always talkative in his presence… and usually suffering for it. That comedic character was slowly making its way onto AEW Dynamite in the months before Lee’s unfortunate passing in what Tony Khan described as a “Raven and Stevie Richards” relationship.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Silver revealed that not only was Brodie key to turning The Dark Order around and kind enough to offer advice as soon as they met, but he was also instrumental in securing a full-time job for Silver and his tag team partner Alex Reynolds after their tag team match against Cody and Matt Cardona.
Brodie was the one backstage telling everyone that the match was great and that we needed full-time deals, which we ended up signing. “That’s just one example. There were so many other little ways he constantly went out of his way to help us. Brodie was an amazing person. I can’t picture him not being here.
Silver and Reynolds will team with Hangman Page on tonight’s Dynamite to take on Santana, Ortiz, and MJF during a show dedicated to the memory of Brodie Lee. Silver also confirmed during the interview that he’d be donning the Brodie Lee-inspired ring gear he shared this week on social media for the bout.
