The New Day Takes Out Old Rivals In Farewell To SmackDown Match

After being surprisingly split up during last week’s WWE Draft, tonight marked the farewell match for The New Day, a fan-favorite group that have become one of the most popular groups in WWE history. In fitting fashion, the trio began their match with a heartfelt message in the ring before they took down their old rivals in Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Sheamus in the ring.

Prior to the match, the trio went into the ring to talk about their history as friends, with Kofi Kingston specifically taking control and noting that during early struggles in his career, he thought about quitting wrestling altogether. Fortunately for him, he met both Xavier Woods and Big E, and the three became fast friends and grew together as wrestlers and friends. Kingston, Big E, and Woods all acknowledged each other as brothers, and thanked each other and the WWE Universe for supporting them so much. Inside the ring, the trio were able to take down their rivals in grand fashion, as Big E and Woods landed the UpUpDownDown on Cesaro for the win.
