Jinder Mahal is on the shelf once again.
The former WWE Champion confirmed he had another knee surgery on Instagram, posting the following statement:
Unfortunately I had to go under the knife again to fix some knee issues. The journey has hit a speed bump, but I will be back stronger than ever.
Mahal did not provide any details regarding the severity of the injury of a timetable for his return. He had previously been sidelined since June 2019 with a prior knee injury but returned to WWE television in April.
Prior to his return, Mahal had confirmed to Chris Featherstone of Wrestling Rumors.net that he was “cleared and waiting” for a return to TV. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer had also reported that WWE was interested in proceeding with Mahal as a babyface moving forward instead of a typical heel character.
