WWE superstar Titus O’Neil has been chosen to be the grand marshal of the Krewe of the Knights of Santiago Illuminated Knight Parade, a celebration that will occur Ybor City – a city within Tampa Bay, Florida – in February.
According to a report from the Tampa Bay Times, O’Neil will join Jerry Springer, who is set to return as a special guest of the Knight Parade. “I’m honored to be asked to fill this role for one of the Tampa Bay area’s best events of the year,” O’Neil said of the news. “Tampa is my home, and the Knight Parade is one of Tampa’s signature events, and has been for many decades. This event not only shows the diversity and pride of Tampa Bay, but also the significant work and impact of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago in our community leading up to the Knight Parade.”
The parade itself has been going on since 1974, and has been a mainstay during the Gasparilla season in Tampa. Fans looking to join in on the festivities can arrive on February 8 sometime before 7 p.m. EST, when the illuminated floats are expected to begin hiding down the street. Currently, the city expects to see over 100,000 people attending the festivities, so O’Neil will have a lot of people to say hello to.
