Conor Casey of Comicbook.com recently interviewed R-Truth and the WWE 24/7 Champion discussed several topics, ranging from his favorite WWE 24/7 Championship segments to his relationship with Vince McMahon. Here are some highlights:
On coming up with the WWE 24/7 Championship changes:
R-Truth: “I like laughing, I like being entertaining, you know what I’m saying. This title has brought so much creativity out, within me, just coming up with different and new ways to do something entertaining, it’s like, it’s mine, I’ve mastered that. This title does something that no other title in WWE does, and it involves everybody.
On his favorite WWE 24/7 Championship idea that he came up with:
R-Truth: “The honeymoon, on the plane, me hiding in the compartment, I’ve never seen nobody inside the compartment of an airplane before, so me going in there was one…but we’ve had so many of them. The actual wedding was Drake [Maverick] and myself.”
On his relationship with Vince McMahon and if Vince is receptive to his ideas:
R-Truth: “Oh, yes. Me and Vince are like cool, man. Good relationship with Vince, man, and I’ve been on a lot of trips with Vince, as far as with overseas, going to visit the military. And even at work, man, ideas, he’s open to a lot of people, everybody, pretty much. If you have a good idea, he wants you to go in there and prepare with it.”
On his pairing with Carmella:
R-Truth: “No, that wasn’t my idea, that just happened. She wasn’t doing anything at the time, and I had just came back from shoulder injury, so we were both just in stagnant, just there and they just happened one night, they put us together, man, it just blossomed.”
