After coming out to start tonight’s SmackDown Live, Dolph Ziggler and Xavier Woods took part in a match in which Ziggler aimed to take down Woods ahead of his steel cage match with Kofi Kingston this weekend. With the two players going at it from the start, their match was interrupted for a brief moment by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who attacked both Kingston and Big E.

After the interference, the referee forced all four superstars backstage, and left just Woods and Ziggler in the ring. From there, both superstars continued to go at it, and while Woods looked to be getting the upper hand throughout the fight, it was Ziggler who capitalized most. Determined to win and incapacitate Woods for Stomping Grounds, Ziggler delivered a series of vicious kicks to Woods, and pinned him for the victory.
