NXT Takeover: New York kicked off in wild fashion, as the War Raiders were able to retain their NXT Tag Team Championship by taking down Aleister Black & Ricochet in a thrilling match that had fans giving all competitors a standing ovation by the end.

From the start, it was clear that this match would be special, and all four superstars put their bodies on the line at every opportunity. In what will surely go down as a classic match, both Black and Richochet gave everything they had in an effort to take down the Raiders, but were countered at every turn. In a true back-and-forth match filled with various finishers and counts being broken, it was the War Raiders who had the last laugh, as they were able to get Richochet alone in the ring and deliver a devastating Thor’s Hammer followed by a Fallout, which was more than enough to help them retain their title.
Following the match, all four superstars showed their respect by hugging it out, and the fans in the crowd then gave Richochet and Black a much-deserved ovation as they left the ring to prepare for their upcoming match at WrestleMania 35.
