It was revealed late last night that wrestling legend King Kong Bundy passed away yesterday at the age of 61. A great deal of the wrestling world took to social media to pay tribute to the master of the five count (“if the money was right,” of course.) Below are several of Bundy’s colleagues and fans paying tribute to the man who made many territories better in his esteemed career:
Very sad to hear about the death of King Kong Bundy. I think it was Jim Ross who came up with the five count idea when he came to Mid South after really making his name in Dallas.

So sad to hear of the passing of @KingKongBundy at only 61 years old.
I suggested to Cowboy Bill Watts that we add the 5 count to Chris’ presentation. It added to Bundy’s mystique.
Last saw Chris Thanksgiving Weekend at @WrestleCade, same as @TheGeneOkerlund ? pic.twitter.com/E5ltpfMn9e

Wow. King Kong Bundy was soooo good and ahead of his time. He was a machine and he never ran out of gas. @WWEBigE stole his 5 count in NXT too. #RIP

I met King Kong Bundy in 1999. I had just started training and was helping out backstage at the show he was on. I’ll always remember him being really funny and just such a great guy. I wish I had been lucky enough to cross paths with him again.
My thoughts go out to his family.

The death of #KingKongBundy really got to me. He is a pop culture icon. From wrestling to inspiring the Bundy family name in "Married With Children". There's not enough praise. A monster in the ring yet the coolest guys. I'll miss his ribs. I'll miss his laugh! God speed! #FIVE
