SmackDown Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura is now a two-time United States Champion. Nakamura defeated Rusev during tonight’s Royal Rumble Kickoff Show. The match was not without controversy, however. As Rusev lay on the ring floor, Nakamura attempted to remove the turnbuckle while Lana tried her best to gain the referee’s attention from the ring apron.

Once Rusev gained consciousness, he attempted an offensive attack on The King of Strong Style, but ever clever, Nakamura moved out of the way. Instead of hitting Nakamura, Rusev instead knocked Lana onto the ring floor. Rusev proceeded to check on his wife, but Nakamura took advantage of Rusev’s dilemma and attacked The Bulgarian Brute from behind. Nakamura inevitably capitalized for the pinfall and his second United States Championship, in the process.
