For the first RAW of the New Year, “The Champ” will make his return as John Cena will appear next week for the red brand. Cena, who made his return to in-ring competition in Madison Square Garden last Wednesday, will make appearances for both SmackDown Live and RAW, respectively, to kick off 2019.
Another notable tidbit will be a RAW Tag Team Championship rematch between The Revival against Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. While rematch clauses are thrown out the window in “The Era of Opportunity,” Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder have a real case as Dawson wasn’t the legal man in their last title shot. The McMahons listened to their case and granted their second chance against the tag team champions.
Finally, appearances by both Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman are confirmed before they battle at the Royal Rumble later in the month.
