WWE has had some very interesting rivalries over the past few years. Although there have been a lot of complaints about the product, we’ve gotten some incredible feuds over the last few years and WWE has done the best they could to give fans what they want to see. Some rivalries turned out to be unexpectedly great, with the only drawback being that they never really stretched out the rivalry as they should.
Normally, we have a feud that goes on for a few months and it has time to eventually play out. Then we have long term storylines which tend to play out over the course of over half a year. However, there are feuds that simply aren’t given a lot of time to play out as they should.
Here are a few rivalries over the last few years that ended a lot sooner than they should have.
#5.) Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton
Even though there was little build to this match, the main event of SummerSlam 2016 between Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar was quite a fascinating one. They had the story, being two out of the “OVW 4” (also including John Cena and Batista). It was Randy Orton’s big return from injury and they really built up the effectiveness of the RKO.
They had a rather underappreciated main event which was overshadowed by the shocking finish – where Randy Orton got his head elbowed in and blood started gushing all over. Unfortunately, the feud ended there and it never picked up, with Randy Orton having not been given a chance to get his redemption.
