#2.) vs. The British Bulldog – 1992
In what many consider the greatest SummerSlam main event of all time, Bret Hart defended the Intercontinental Championship against hometown hero Davey Boy Smith in front of a rabid 80,000+ crowd at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom. Naturally, Smith was the most popular star on the roster and had to take on his brother-in-law in the main event.
While there was some bad blood heading into it, the two dished out a lot of punishment to each other, with Smith eventually picking up the win via Bret Hart’s signature pin-down. This is the only match on the list that Bret Hart lost, but there was nothing but respect between the two afterward, with Hart endorsing Smith. It was a huge moment for both competitors.
