There are very few superstars who can lay claim to the term “Mr. SummerSlam”. In our opinion, it boils down to three names – Bret Hart, The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. Few have had the number of matches that they had at the event and those who did weren’t able to create as big an impact.
Bret Hart did have a couple of dud matches at SummerSlam, but the fact of the matter is that he was always present. From the first SummerSlam in 1989 until he left in 1997, he was a part of every single SummerSlam except one – 1996. He has been a part of so many iconic SummerSlam moments and is truly one of the superstars who helped make the event as big as it is today – even more so than Hulk Hogan (who is actually undefeated in his SummerSlam appearances).
