#3.) Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio – The Bash

This match had an incredible stipulation to cap off their trilogy – it was title vs mask. After Rey Mysterio’s miraculous 22-second Intercontinental title win at WrestleMania 25, he found himself being chased by 8-time Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho. While he did have a successful defence against Jericho, their second match was a No Holds Barred bout at Extreme Rules, where Jericho became a 9-time Champion.

Both matches were of absolute top quality and even though they weren’t given a lot of time, they did the best to tell an incredible story. Neither match would top off the third of their trilogy, with the mask stipulation adding a new layer of intensity. The subtlty of the storytelling and attention to detail was fantastic, proving exactly what separated these two in a league of their own.

This time, Mysterio managed to prevail by the skin of his teeth, winning back the Intercontinental title.
