#5.) John Cena vs Edge – Backlash
John Cena and Edge was one of the defining rivalries of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Although it’s not talked about as much as the all-time great rivalries, it truly belongs in that conversation. After WrestleMania 25, Edge was distraught about losing the World Heavyweight Champion to Cena.
Indulging in an intense war of words with then-World Champion Cena, Edge vowed to end him and end their rivalry by beating him for the World title in a Last Man Standing match. Now, one must remember that it was very rare, if ever, that John Cena would end up losing his rivalries.
This was a rare exception. They unsurprisingly tore the roof off the building after teasing early finishes and thanks to help from The Big Show, Edge managed to walk out as World Champion for the ninth time, effectively ending his rivalry with Cena and moving to SmackDown.
